Security

Entrance/exit doors

It is a sad fact that student accommodation is regularly targeted by local burglars; hence we would recommend the following:

  • Lock doors – Keep the main entrances shut at all times, do not prop them open even for a short while.

  • Control access – Do not let anyone in unless they are calling for you, no matter how plausible or nice they seem.

  • Maintenance visits – Except in an emergency or with your prior agreement, the Landlord or maintenance professional will always give you 24 hours prior notice of any property inspections or maintenance visits.

  • Check IDs – Always check the identity of callers acting on official business. Genuine callers will not mind you checking them out, and will be able to provide you with ID and contact details for further confirmation.

Keys

The property uses high security locks with keys and master keys, the locks and keys are customised and are quite expensive.

You are not permitted to have additional keys cut, or hand your keys to someone else without our written permission. If additional keys are permitted they remain the property of the landlord, and should be given back at the end of the tenancy.

If keys are lost they are expensive to replace, so please take care as this will be your expense. In addition, if keys are retained or handed to others without our consent we will change the locks at your expense.

At the end of the tenancy you must return ALL keys to the property or be charged the reasonable cost of replacing the locks. Due to the master key nature it will be necessary to replace ALL locks in the event that ANY key is not returned.
