Checking out

The property is to be vacated by 12:00 noon on the last day of the Tenancy and, subject to fair wear and tear, you must return the property to the Landlord in the same condition that existed when you moved in.

The moving out procedure requires you to:

  • Personal property and effects – Remove all personal property and effects from the Property (including the external areas at the front and rear of the Property). The Landlord will endeavour to contact you regarding anything that is left and may, if necessary, charge you for its disposal.

  • Professional clean – Arrange a professional clean of the property at the end of your tenancy. If this is not undertaken or not adequately undertaken this will be arranged by the Landlord and charged to you as a deduction from your deposit. As a yardstick, this is the same level and state of cleanliness of a quality hotel room prior to your check-in.

  • Landlord’s property – Return the Property and the Contents in the same state of cleanliness, condition, decoration (subject to reasonable wear and tear) and location as existed at the commencement of the Tenancy. You will be required to pay for the repair or replacement of those items damaged or lost during the Tenancy. You are invited to attend the Landlord’s inspection to avoid disputes in this area.

  • Keys – Return ALL keys to the property or be charged the reasonable cost of replacing the locks. Please note that the property uses locks having keys and master keys, hence it will be necessary to replace ALL locks in the event that ANY key is not returned.

  • Utilities – Arrange for a final reading of the gas, electricity and water meter (if applicable) which you may choose to coordinate this with the arriving tenants. Do not have any services cut off or disconnected. If this happens you will be charged for reconnection.

  • Forwarding address – You are required to provide a forwarding address and arrange for mail to be redirected. Any mail not re-directed will be returned to the sender.
